So at school, we must enter a contest for writing this December and I wanted to do something along the lines of Harry Potter. It will not be enter into the contest so I thought that I would share it here. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Waiting for the Quidditch match to start, I was nervous even though it was my second year as substitute seeker. Harry had gotten detention from Professor Snape for every Saturday at 10 am until the end of term because he cursed Draco Malfoy. I mounted my broomstick nervously. We were playing Ravenclaw while our whole team had shifted positions due to Harry’s absence putting me as Seeker. My mind wandered for a while before the game began. I wondered how harsh Snape was treating Harry. We all were in a large circle waiting for the balls to be released.

“I want a nice clean game” Madame Hooch said before every game.

The quaffle and bludgers were released into the air. I waited patiently for the Golden Snitch. Ron was Keeper and making sure that we win for Harry’s sake. Dean Thomas and Katie Bell were chasers and chasing the quaffle and trying to score 10 points. After what seemed like a lifetime, I spotted it. Its wings were moving fast and spots of gold sparkled in the sun. I tilted the broomstick forward and speed toward the Snitch. Cho Chang must have spotted me chasing the snitch and started chasing me. She caught up to me and we rode side by side glancing at each other every once and a while. I lost the snitch for a little so I pulled up and waited looking into Snape’s window trying to find Harry. The crowd was chanting: “Go Go Gryffindor! Go Go Gryffindor!” like they do every match. Cho Chang was lower than me when she stopped. We were winning 300 to 140. All that was left was for me to catch the Golden Snitch. I spotted it right in front of me. I reached out to grab it but it flew away. I dove down with one hand out reaching for it. My fingers had just touched it and missed it. I followed it again but with more speed than ever because I was still determined to win this final match. I grabbed the snitch. The final score was 450 to 140. Gryffindor has won the championship match! We all dismount from our brooms and change and receive the cup. We were all hyper and excited. I could not wait to tell Harry. We walk back to the Gryffindor tower.

“Tapeworm” I said to the Fat Lady.

When the Fat Lady opens, it squeaks sometimes but this time you could only hear the cheers coming from everybody as we entered. The common room was covered in more red and gold. There was a banner hanging “Congratulations!” The whole Gryffindor house was there except for Harry. They were cheering for us because we had won. There were snacks being passed around. They had Ron lifted up in the air even though he was not captain. Everybody was singing and having a good time. I sat down on the couch next to Hermione. It was too loud to talk to her. So we sat there waiting for the noise to die down.

“Go Go Gryffindor! Go Go Gryffindor!” They started chanting again.

My brother came up and gave me a big hug. I kept getting pats on the back and congratulations. The cup was placed on the table where everybody could see. I went over and looked at it. It had Gryffindor House engraved on it. The gold on it sparkled with the light from the candles and fire that was in the common room.  Again the house was chanting cheers and having fun. The first years looked a little lost on what was going on. The portrait opens up. Everybody freezes thinking it was McGonagall coming in. It was Harry. I push through the crowd to get to him. I give him a hug. Then he leans down and we kiss for what seems like a lifetime.
